Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Dr. Teitelbaum will only be doing phone consultations. The Receptionists will be in during office hours to take your calls, book appointments and answer your questions. They will either mail out herbs to patients around the country or put your herbal orders in a box outside our office front door. We apologize for the inconvenienceĀ caused.

Patients who live close enough will be evaluated once a week for the first four weeks according to the following guidelines:

On the first visit, after the patient history is taken, Dr. Teitelbaum will evaluate the patient’s imbalance by using pulse diagnosis and muscle testing (Applied Kinesiology). These two diagnostic tools make it easy to detect all imbalances in the body. Then a specific treatment program is drawn up for that particular person. Then time is spent explaining the imbalances that were found and how to go about fixing them.

On the next visit, usually in a week if it is convenient for the patient, time is spent (usually one-half hour) teaching the patient Ayurvedic principles, especially regarding diet, detoxification and daily routine, tailoring all the information to that person’s specific imbalances.

On follow-up visits thereafter, Dr. Teitelbaum re-evaluates the imbalances that were found on the first visit, and then begins a series of treatments which include gentle spinal adjusting (to remove blockages in the nerve flow), treatments to muscles and trigger points, various other Chiropractic techniques to the soft tissue, depending on each patient’s needs. Some patients may require a series of spinal marma treatments, which are given to enhance the flow of prana, the life energy in nature, to allow it to flow through the system and supply all aspects of the physiology. These spinal marma treatments are reserved for special cases in which the pulse reveals blockages in the flow of this life energy. The prana or life energy, which keeps us alive, is in the food, air and water. It enters the body at a special marma point (the Adhipati marma point) at the top of the head, is circulated down the spine and down the front of the body and from there supplies prana to various other marma points around the body. These marma points are like the outlets which govern the various organs, glands, etc. throughout the whole body. Pulse diagnosis can reveal blockages in this flow, which would indicate a need for these special treatments.

As patients start to experience a lessening of their symptoms, and Dr. Teitelbaum sees changes in the pulse and muscle testing, they will need to be seen less frequently.

All patients receive care to their particular imbalances, and at some point everyone will undergo detoxification techniques, according to many factors, such as the person’s age, the time of the year, the types of toxins stored, the condition of the liver (the main detoxifying agent), and the condition of the channels, which have to carry the toxins out of the body through the bowel movement, urine and the sweat.

For example, if the liver is over-heated, which is often the case, it may be necessary to spend some time cooling it down, before the cleanse can be administered. Also, if the channels which carry the toxins out are clogged or inflamed, then time must be spent either unclogging them or lubricating the channels so the toxins can flow out unimpeded. This preparation insures optimum results in enhancing the body’s capabilities of carrying the toxins out.
